Job Applicants and Employees

If you apply to work at the Edinburgh International Book Festival or are employed by us, we may use your information to:

  • Process a job application
  • Issue a contract
  • Carry out legal obligations from any contracts entered into by you and us
  • Seek your views or comments regarding the Book Festival
  • Contact next of kin in case of emergency
  • Create a festival staff identification pass
  • undertake equality and diversity monitoring and reporting (information is anonymised)

     

Where we want to take up a reference or obtain a disclosure from Disclosure Scotland, we will not do so without informing you beforehand. We will not share your information with third parties except to meet a legal requirement.

Personal information about unsuccessful candidates will be held for 12 months after the recruitment exercise has been completed, after which it will be destroyed, unless you have asked us to destroy it earlier or allowed us to retain it for longer by written request.
